The Trade Printery in Seattle WA had been using a camera and film to make their metal plates. Not only were they using film but there were hand processing the film in trays!  This was a very time consuming way of doing things.  Kevin knew he needed to make a change and get away from film.

I have known Kevin for about 5 years and tried to sell him an eco-1630 at that time.  Back then he knew he needed to make the change but just couldn’t pull the trigger as he said his business was down and didn’t see the value in the ROI.  After discussing the cost of the device vs. the cost of the current way they were doing things it was starting to make sense. The biggest things Kevin saw was the time that was involved and how that would change by going to a CTP device.   He was already seeing a time savings from his 2 digital Xerox presses and knew that making plates via a CTP device would be a time savings as well.

It has been 6 months since he has installed his new SC device he tells me he wished he had done something a few years back!  In the short 6 months his pressmen have been more efficient with their time and the plate quality has gone up.  The Prepress department is more efficient too, not having to spend time in a darkroom.  This has allowed them to take more jobs in that they might have turned away in the past.  It fact their business has been growing these past months although Kevin won’t say it’s because he has a new CTP device!  But I know it is.
