Profile
A family run business founded by John Sullivan and currently owned and run by Michael Sullivan, Envelopes & More in Bloomfield, CT USA, know more about envelopes than almost anyone. They were running “direct to film”; that is, they had templates for their plate sizes, and output everything imposed to film, no stripping, that was then punched and hung on plates.

Tim Murphy, VP Sales and Marketing at Printware comments: “The PlateStream® Violet has been designed especially for the 2-up printer and can easily image many different sizes of plate, which is ideal for an envelope printer. Imaging some of the smaller envelope plates in less than half a minute gives the printer the flexibility and production throughput that keeps him ahead of the competition.”

Envelopes & More described the installation of their PlateStream® Violet CtP in one word - “perfect”.

Michael Sullivan, President, Envelopes & More, Inc. comments: “We were perfectly set up to make the leap to Direct to Plate (CtP) and decided that the PlateStream® Violet was the machine that met our requirements. I could not be more pleased with the PlateStream® Violet , and believe that the decision to be one of the first installs here in the US was a sound one that will have many benefits for us far into the future.”

Mike continues: “From the day of installation the PlateStream® Violet is a great workhorse. As soon as it was running, only eight hours from the start of unpacking the machine, we were able to convert the entire shop over to CtP. Since then it continues to run flawlessly. We had experience with the Harlequin RIP and therefore found the PlateStream® Violet interface to be logical and easy to navigate. All in all, it’s a machine that went in easily, is simple to run, does everything we need it to, and has been completely reliable.”
